    BAGS/CORNHOLE RULES AND REGULATIONS

Welcome! Here is what you need to know for this season
  • -The game is played by two teams, each team consisting of two players. Teams who have more than 2 players may rotate between games but the same 2 players must complete each game. If a teammate is missing, one substitute can be recruited to play.

  • -There are no gender rules. Teams may consist of 2 men, 2 women, or 1 man and 1 woman.
  • -Required equipment includes one set of bags 8 total, 4 of one color, 4 of another and a set of boxes.

  • -The boxes are to be placed roughly 30 feet apart from each other center of hole to center of hole with the pitch of the boxes running down at each other.

  • -Each team shall have one member at each end of the playing field. One man alongside each box foul line being the front of the box. Teammates should be facing each other.

  • -Teams flip to see who throws first during the regular season. The higher seed will throw first in the playoffs.

  • -Teams alternate throws until all four bags are thrown by each team.

  • -Once all of the bags are thrown, all of the points are counted. One point is awarded for a bag that is on the box at the end of the throwing, and three points are awarded to any bag that is thrown in or knocked in to the hole at the end of the throwing. Points from opposing teams cancel each other out. The team with the lower number of points has their points subtracted from the other teams points, leaving the other team with their score for that volley. Team A = 12 points / Team B = 8 points..... then Team A gets 4 points for the volley.
