IMMEDIATE OPPORTUNITY

Sports Monster is still offering an amazing introductory price on our Learn to Play and Cardio Tennis Leagues which began Monday, Aug. 16th. Sign up today for the remaining 4 weeks to cash in on the savings!!!

Also, this special pricing will continue for the 2nd installment of Cardio Tennis & Learn to Play beginning Sept. 7th.  Each of these run 6 weeks.

Congratulations to PSK, our Summer Team Tennis Tournament Champions! They downed the Bazerkers 30-20 Tuesday night (Aug. 17th) to take home the title. Katie, I enjoyed playing doubles with you against Jesse and Maddalena. Good set by everyone!

Also, we'd like to recognize the DCOT team who finished undefeated in league play to take home the regular season crown.

 Tennis Programs

Private Tennis Instruction - Nothing improves your game more than private lessons or clinics conducted by experienced instructors. When you are equipped with the right tennis "know hows" and tools, you are better prepared to battle the next opponent. Only then will hitting with players better than yourself excell your game, as you learn to implement what you've been taught; forced to compete with their loftier demands. Sports Monster is pleased to offer 3 levels of instruction at a price way below the market standard: Undergraduate, Graduate, or Open. Please refer to the USTA rating's list at the bottom of this page to define your skill level. This will help our instructors better prepare for your private session. Call to schedule an appointment or check out our upcoming programs. Release that Tennis Monster inside you and you'll experience the joy of transforming from a Hacker to a Smacker. All ages welcomed and encouraged.

Mixed Doubles Tennis League All this 6 week league needs is your willingness to join forces with an opposite gender partner saying, "Let's go!" Your male/female team will face a new opponent each week. After your team plays an eight game pro-set with regular scoring, including a twelve-point tie-breaker if tied 7-7, the ladies will then switch partners and play another eight game pro-set. That's right, you'll play against each other as you tag team with one of your previous set challengers all in the name of good fun and "social-ism". What a great way to meet and work with new people. We want players rotating partners each week so all league participants play and get to know everyone. Play time is 1.5 hours, weekday evenings.

Sports Monster Team Tennis (SMTT) This is our bread and butter---the hit event in all our tennis markets. Two guys and two gals join ranks to make up the ideal four person team, though six per team is allowed. Your team remains the same thoughout the entire 9 week season. This league is classified as "open division", meaning 2.0 - 4.5 players are mixed together. However, it is strongly encouraged that all 2.0-2.9 players first complete our Learn to Play League while 4.5+ players look to our Mixed Doubles League for the best overall instruction and competition available. Sports Monster incorporates the format of six combined team sets: One each for men's singles and doubles; one each for women's singles and doubles; and two mixed doubles matches. The first to tally six games in a set (i.e. 6-5 set score) at no ad scoring wins the set. If the overall team game score is tied after six matches, another mixed doubles match will be played to determine winner. Sign up as a team, couple, or individual. Play time in 1.5 hours, weekday evenings.

Learn/Play (Better) Tennis League This will be particularly helpful for all 1.0 - 3.0 players as the league is designed to do exactly what our 6 week program implies: Teach you the fundamentals of the game while mixing it in with real live play. No tennis experience (1.0 level) required. However, these sessions are also structured to benefit the 3.5+ player when their participation is present. Regardless of your skill abilities, you will learn how to play better tennis than you are currently. Each session begins with a 30-45 minutes instructional period followed by 45-60 minutes singles and/or doubles play. We will begin with an overview of all shots working each week to improve those shots in consistent play. By season's end you will understand how to play tennis the right way or more advanced. No pressure equals great fun! Play time is 1.5 hours.

Cardio Tennis - Welcome to tennis' version of Tae Bo: Sports Monster's fun exercise method designed to make you forget all about working out while at the same time working you out. As you run to hit balls with your fellow monsters, you will begin to understand why tennis is second only to swimming as the best over-all fitness sport. Every basic shot in tennis will be convered and even improved during our six weeks together. We even provide rock'n music for added pump and stimulation. So, what are you waiting for? Swing yourself into shape! Serve up a more healthier you! Just once a week for an hour. You'll have a blast.

Sports Monster's Tennis College - This 6 week training program is designed to raise your USTA rating at least one full point. Our ultimate goal is to help you become an advanced tennis player, 4.5 level and higher. You may choose to join us 1-5 days a week, but the old adage definately rings true here: "The more the merrier!" Why? Because you will improve faster, and when you're better than the other guy, tennis is just that more enjoyable. We guarantee it! After 6 weeks, the 4-5 days a week participant will have covered and learned the basics to EVERY shot possible. However, regardless of your day(s) selection, EVERY session incorporates the importance and display of proper footwook, court coverage, shot selection, and player strategies. Body motion, balanced swings, and a patient on court presence will be taught as well. You won't be paying those "only for the rich" tennis academy prices either. This is for everyone! Sessions last 1.5 hours.
